Introducing baby Oscar James! Oscar is the brand new son of my beautiful friends, Helena & Gleb (you can see their pregnancy session HERE). We have quickly learned that Os is a much bigger fan of cuddles than he is of having his photograph taken, and after three (THREE!!) attempts at photographing him as a newborn – at 10 days, 2 weeks and 3 weeks - these are the images we got. Good thing he’s completely adorable and gives his Aunty Nay lots and lots of cuddles!
We are so happy to have you here with us Os! It is plainly written on the faces of your parents how much love and joy you already bring to their lives, I don’t think anyone can imagine life without you now.
This is also my public apology to you for being so adamant that you were a baby girl all that time in your mummy’s belly! Oops …
Now, on to a few of my favourite images!

I just love this series of the brand new family :)

And I think these two take the cake for my favourites from the session – already full of cheekiness, just like both mummy and daddy!

And yes, this blog post title reads ‘Part I’ – there are more to come! Part II should be ready to pubish next week :)

Meet the beautiful and very brand new Talitha. Talitha is baby sister to 4 year old twins Mia & Emerson and the new daughter of our lovely friends. The wonderful thing about photographing the newborns of friends is that they give me free range to do what I like for the photographs AND I get all of the extra cuddles I want :)
Taltiha was so well behaved and obliged me beautifully while I moved her around to get her into the ‘good’ light on an overcast day.

Meet my newest (and probably last) little cousin – Riley Peter :) Riley joins 3 big brothers, Joshua, Alex and Jayden, a family full of beautiful boys! Riley’s middle name, Peter, is for my grandfather Peter who passed away in August last year, Riley’s due date was the first anniversary of my grandfathers passing, so we all think he is being carefully watched over :)
Riley was born a little early, and weighed a teeny tiny 5lb 2oz! I know these images don’t clearly show his small size, but he was the tinest baby I have ever seen, and it was so much fun to photograph him!
While most people seem to grow up with their cousins around the same age as them, I have been pretty lucky to be the eldest of all of my cousins by quite a few years, and I have very clear memories of holding every single one of them as newborn babies, and spoiling them all rotten with endless cuddles. Though now that some of those newborn babies are getting drivers licences, have headed off to university or are old enough to buy beer, they’re all of a sudden making me feel a lot older!
So here’s my newest baby cousin … who I will also one day see get his driver’s license, go to uni and buy himself beer!
Who says newborns don’t smile?!!

Look at those beautiful squishy lips!

:) Lovely little baby feet in daddy’s hands

With proud big brother Jayden, who is very happy with his little brother – as long as Riley goes to bed first because he’s now the youngest :)
More smiles ….
